After a trip of eight days on camels, we arrive in Nawalgarh , East-Rajastan.  It’s a beautiful and interesting town with old merchandise houses. These houses are beautifully decorated with paintings.  The paintings are old and are in a terrible state but at the same time, it’s very charming. Charm is something we can use well, because after 68 days and 35.000 kilomters we are broken on the rack !  Our backs look like these of baboons, all red and scrubbed.

Our buttocks and thighs now are covered under a massive layer of creams.

During our cameltrip we were accompanied by three drivers.  Very friendly, helpfully and honest people.  Although we barely understood each other (language), we got along just fine.   When we arrived here, our drivers asked us if we could arrange it for them to get their photo in the local newspaper.  So, we called the paper, a photographer came along and the photo was taken. Next day, our photo was in the paper. But the 3 drivers stood ‘headless’ in the paper !? When ask the paper to explain this weard situation, they tell us that these 3 cameldrivers are from a very low origin and that they are not suited to appear in a paper !!!!! During the trip we noticed  how much stuff we carry with us, although we only carry the minimum.  But when you visit people in the small villages and you enter their home, you realize how much we carry along !  All their belongings is smaller than our luggage !!!

Men here are so handsome !  They were bright red turbans and snow-white clothing.  They are so proud of their big moustache.  These men are very jealous.  When we talk to them, other men immediately try to make them look their way.  Moustaches are not just for ‘decoration’. When a young man has a moustache, he is allowed to drive a car or a motorcycle.  They don’t need an insurance….. his moustache is his insurance……..
