Yellow Stone in the state of Wyoming is probably the oldest and the biggest National Park on the entire globe.  It was founded in 1872.  The surface amounts to 10.000 square meters and a motorway runs through it.  When you intend to ride on this motorway, be prepared for 800 kilometers, Nicole tells us.

Wyoming is the 3rd state and one of the ten largest states of America.  But, Wyoming has, at the same time, the smallest population of all 50 states (less than 500.000 citizens). The state is surrounded in the north and north-west by Montana, in the east by South Dakota and Nebraka, in the south by Colorado, in the southwest by Utah and in the west by Idaho.

One thing is dead certain : Nicole and Ingrid are heaving a great time !

"Yellow Stone is fabulous, so beautiful.  No wonder that each year 3 million people visit the park with it's underground geysers.   These geysers are bubbling quagmires, coloured by numerous algues.  The quagmires produce a scalding hot, smelly gruel. The most famous geyser is the 'Old Faithful'.  Every hour a capacity of 50.000 liters is blown into the air, 40 meters high. Tourists standing at the gates clap their hands after every emission.

In the park, it swarms of the wild animals.  When we noticed a car traffic-jam, we thought that people were observing the stags.  The shrubs come off our noses and being on our reclining bikes we hadn't seen the bisons..... they were grazing and all the animals could see were our flags... In panic they stew all sides from.  We heard this booming and there was dust all over the place.  Looking in our tiny bicycle mirror we saw nothing but bison heads !! People screamed at us : go away, they are going to kill you - for gods' sake, drop your flags.....

Everyone got into their cars, slammed the doors and drove away.  We luckily rolled/threw ourselves under a truck (a pick-up).

Since then we ride with our flags half-mast.  We hope not to causing more riots and terror on our way through the park...
