Snowfun already has started for us. Nicole and Ingrid had to put their bikes away last Friday. They got caught in a heavy snowstorm in Norway. We couldn’t see a thing ! We were lucky to find a shelter with a nice family that runs a farm.
We left Trondheim behind us through the water. A couple of students from the school rowed us across the fjord. They had made, themselves, this beautiful Viking ship. It took us some 5 hours to get to the other side. After hardly 30 minutes we couldn’t feel our arms anymore ! Our students, who already had rowed for 5 hours to get to Trondheim, didn’t complain at all.
Next morning, when we took our bikes again, there was the sun ! Not very bright and clear, but she was there ! But shortly afterwards, it started to rain. No water, but “icerain”, followed by a storm. We got so desperate that we knocked on this farmers door in Veslebo. It is such a tiny village, not even marked on the most detailed map of Norway !! It has the smallest school in Norway : 9 pupils, age 6 to 12 !!
We’ll be needing the teacher ! He prepares soldiers to go on missions all the way up in the North. He will give us some tips. Because of the snow, we now cycle with special tyres. It is very strong and stable. But when we have to use our breaks, it is dangerous. These tyres are heavy to cycle with
