We both still have both our fingers and toes ! We
believe that no one ever had thought that we would made through Siberia !
The two made it all the way through Siberia and they are now staying in
terminal-point Magadan.
Ahead lays the Sea of Okhotsk, who is part of the Atlantic Ocean. This ocean
separates them from their next country : Alaska. The sea covers an area of
1.528.100 square meters. The first 5 kilometers are covered by a thick layer of
ice. Here and there you will see fishermen. Their cars are on the ice as well,
engines on. Very hallucinating scene.
We had made several plans of how to reach Alaska,
but unfortunately, it is impossible.
We wanted to take a balloon to cross the Ocean but the Siberian warned us :
Russians or Americans will bring/shoot you down. So, goodbye balloon. Second
option : a sailing-boat. Impossible too : too cold, the wind is coming from the
wrong direction and there still are too many flakes of ice. Help came from two
guys from Poland. We met them a few days ago. These guys are heading in the same
direction as we do. A captain of a big containership was prepared to take our
Polish friends with him across the Ocean. The nice captain agreed that we could
come along too. But ! There were a few rules .... don't be sea-sick, don't get
home-sick (we've only been away for 4 years...), cooking and cleaning of fish is
a 'must'...
We fully answer to the description..... Although? Cleaning and cooking fish ??
Another question has raised : will the Americans receive us with open arms ?
