Nicole
and Ingrid in Norway
Our duo faces 3.000 km through Norway. “After almost 400 km of pedalling through Sweden with their
sea-kayak, they arrived in Frederikstad, Norway. The trip wasn’t quite what
whe had expected it to be ! Bad
weather conditions, stormy winds. We
were forced to spent two days on a small, desolate island. The circumstances
really were bad. If we had stayed
on the water it would be suicidal ! We
didn’t eat for two days. Fortunately,
a nice German guy gave us flour and some baking powder. On a small wood fire we baked our own bread. We kept
saying to each other that we were eating a very dark, special kind of bread…..
to keep us going.
Now, we are exchanging kayaks for mountainbikes. We will travel now all the way up north, some 3.000 km.
We schedule two months to get there.
Norwegians say that we are crazy !
The landscape is hilly, not to say mountainos.
At night, temperature goes below zero.
Sweden is, for campers THE Promised Land. Where
ever you want, you are allowed to make a camping fire, keeping in mind though,
that you won’t disturb the privacy of those who live around you.
Sweden will see us again !
