Nicole and Ingrid are forced to stay in Hanoi. Nicole 'enjoys' a very rough treatment from a French kinesist. Ingrid is wearing a bandage round her wrist, bought in a toystore.

"Ingrid now knows what pain is", Nicole tells us. During the last session (treatment for her knees) she cried and yelled and the kinesist keep asking "does it hurt " ?

"Ingrid didn't sleep a wink for the past few days. She is in pain and my knees are hurting too", Nicole sighs. We have contacted our Belgian insurer, Europ Assistance. They have contacted our doctors and told them how serious our 'injuries' are. " Repatriation " ?? Out of the question - we bite through - but I don't want to be treated here, in hospital, whenever a serious injury occurs !

"The kinesist who treats me - a charming French doctor - told me that I am making good progress. He is so nice that I hardly feel the pain.... until afterwards of course ! This prince charming told us that we don't drink enough water........we should drink 7 to 8 liters of water every day because with this heat, our body suffers from desiccation. This desiccation damages our joints. Next time I'll have my friend and kinesist Leo Wouters calling our prince charming to see what is wrong. Despite our misery and frustration, we made a small trip. We took our bikes (indeed we did !) and a rowing boat to Parfumpagoda. Ingrid, who was wrapped in protection material that we bought in a toystore (when you rollerblade you use the same protection) brightened up ! We were surprised when we saw the local women in the rowing boats. Whilst chatting and drinking tea, they steer the boat by sticking the oar between their toes.
Guess what ? Nicole wanted to try it out and laid herself down in the boat... she made a split and in less than a minute her pants were teared up in 2 pieces...
