Nicole and Ingrid are hoping to take it easy in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.  Although, in a city like Bangkok, it’s not that easy.

“A Dutch advised us to arrive in Bangkok on a Sunday.  On Sundays the traffic is ‘less’ hectic and so it is much safer……  On the day before Christmas we really were thrown like a catapult into Bangkok.  “Less traffic ??” Excuse us !!!! We felt like being dropped into an ant’s nest and that we were the smallest amongst the ants who were trampled upon by the big ones.  In Thailand only one rule counts in the traffic : You simply have to wait till it is your turn to cross.

“Amongst all these thousands of cars and worn out busses we were a show-piece.

At a certain moment we were completely enclosed and there was no way out.  We luckily were saved by two handsome motorized policemen.   By whistling and gesturing they paralysed a whole junction and showed us the right way”.

Floating little shops

“We finally took the initiative and went to a hospital for a thorough check-up.

We want them to examine us on malaria, infections, our physical condition, a blood test, etc.   Conclusion of the doctors : “it would be better if you QUIT, your bodies urgently need to rest.” “We were not surprised at all ! Just think of what our bodies went through the past 30 months”, Nicole says with a tiny little voice.  “Ingrid is seeing a dermatologist because her skin suffered from the scorching sun”.

“So, we really, really need to slow down.”  We will enjoy and relax in Bangkok.  On New Year’s Eve we will do some shopping on a floating market.  Must be something special ! You take a small boat and then you visit the floating little stores.  But we will tell you more about that next year.  Lots of kisses and best wishes to our families, sponsors and all our fans !!
